Why We Are Called Ambassadors Bible Church
From time to time, people ask about our name and why we are not part of a denomination. The question often comes from a sincere place, especially since many of our beliefs and practices feel familiar to those from Baptist or other evangelical backgrounds. The answer is both simple and intentional: our name reflects our authority and our calling.
Ambassadors - because of the biblical calling given to every believer. Scripture tells us, “We are ambassadors for Christ” (2 Corinthians 5:20). An ambassador represents a king and his kingdom. In the same way, we are to represent Christ faithfully in our community and in the world.
Bible - because we believe the scriptures are the final authority for faith and practice. Our desire is to understand and obey God’s Word as it is written, allowing scripture itself to shape what we believe and how we live.
Church - because we are a called-out assembly of believers gathered in Christ's name.
We are not affiliated with a denomination, but this is not a statement of opposition or rejection. We are thankful for faithful believers and gospel-centered churches across many fellowships, and we gladly recognize them as co-laborers in Christ. Our desire is simply to remain a local church directly accountable to the Lord Jesus Christ, seeking to follow him according to his word and to live out our calling as his ambassadors.
That is how our name came to be, and that is the heart behind Ambassadors Bible Church.
